Judge James A. Manley dealt with the following cases Wednesday, Nov. 4:

Patience Salois-Yonkin, 20, Ronan, was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for five years, none suspended, with recommendation for appropriate long-term treatment for chemical dependency and mental health.

According to court documents, in June 2014 Salois-Yonkin was charged with robbery for attempting to steal a purse that contained marijuana, and allegedly physically attacked the owner of the purse near Back Road and Eli Gap road in Polson. Per a change of plea agreement, Salois-Yonkin admitted to an amended charge of criminal endangerment in October 2014, for which sentencing in March 2015 was deferred for three years to allow her to attend Boot Camp. She was kicked out of boot camp and sent to Missoula jail after just 15 days for being insolent. She was placed in another treatment center, Elkhorn, but was terminated from that program within days.

Larry C. Robinson, 64, Arlee, was sentenced to DOC for two years, all suspended per a plea agreement.

According to court documents, on April 25 Robinson was found in possession of 29 mature marijuana plants and 45 seedlings, plus a bag of growing material. Although Robinson did possess a medical marijuana card, with the card Montana law only allows four mature plants and up to 12 seedlings. Robinson told the court he no longer uses marijuana for leg pain because his doctor has found a pain medication that works.

Dominic Antonio Martinez, 23, Elmo, pleaded not guilty to theft and criminal possession of dangerous drugs, both felonies. An omnibus hearing is set for Feb. 3, 2016 and a jury trial is set to start March 14, 2016. Defendant’s request for release was denied, but bond was reduced from $25,000 to $10,000 on the condition he wear a GPS monitor if he can bond out.

According to court documents, in November 2014 Martinez allegedly stole a blue car from a casino parking lot in Polson. Then on Oct. 7 a Montana Highway Patrol trooper saw Martinez riding a bike and wanted to speak to him about the previous situation, but Martinez fled on foot to an apartment nearby. When found inside, the trooper found a syringe with meth residue on Martinez while Martinez was being patted down.

Nathan Mark Culver, 38, Kalispell, pleaded not guilty to felony theft. An omnibus hearing is set for Nov. 14 and a jury trial for Jan 19, 2016.

According to court documents, on Aug. 4 while in Polson, Culver was found in possession of a car that was reported stolen. Culver said he had purchased the vehicle about a month before from a third party. Registration in the vehicle had the reporting party’s name on the registration, and Culver was unable to produce a bill of sale.

Brandon Joseph Jeppesen, 31, Polson, pleaded not guilty to felony theft. An omnibus hearing is set for Feb. 3, 2016 and a jury trial is set to start March 14, 2016. Jeppesen’s attorney requested a reduction in bail but the court denied the request. Jeppesen is being held on $100,000 bail plus $25,000 from a previous offense involving the theft of a boat.

According to court documents, on July 14 Jeppesen was named as the person who stole an enclosed construction trailer with fasteners, screws and about $1,600 worth of brown tarps from a property on Finley Point. The stolen trailer was recovered after a chase involving Jeppesen, and a warrant was then issued for Jeppesen’s arrest.

Joseph Conko Parizeau, Jr., 20, Polson, pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault, a felony, and felony criminal endangerment.

An omnibus hearing and jury trial were not set at the time.

According to court documents, on Oct 17 in Polson, Parizeau, Jr., allegedly fired a shotgun four times at his cousin in an area of Polson where a Polson city building and another apartment were in the line of fire with the shotgun.

Randell Runsthrough, 27, Polson, in a change of plea admitted committing the amended offense of criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. Sentencing is set for Dec. 16.

According to court documents, in March 2014 Runsthrough sold two small bags of methamphetamine to a confidential informant at a commercial parking lot along Highway 93.

Tucker Steven Hathaway, 27, Polson, in a change of plea admitted committing the offenses of eluding a police officer, a misdemeanor, and driving under the influence, second offense, a misdemeanor. A third count was dismissed. Hathaway was sentenced to one year in Lake County Jail for each offense, with all suspended except 20 days on count two that still need to be served within six months. 

According to court documents, on Aug. 1 Hathaway was driving a four-wheeler on state roads while intoxicated, and led law enforcement on a chase when the officer attempted to pull Hathaway over. 

Andrew William Samsel, 31, Polson, pleaded not guilty to felony theft and felony burglary. A jury trial will be scheduled at a later date, and the court ordered Samsel to be released into his parents’ custody a day before he will be placed in a treatment program. 

According to court documents, between Sept. 3 and 18 Samsel was allegedly involved in entering a home and taking property that was being held in both a storage unit and at a female’s home.

 

Judge Deborah Kim Christopher dealt with the following cases Thursday, Nov. 5:

Richard Lee Fry, 47, Ronan, pleaded not guilty to felony intimidation. An omnibus hearing is set for Dec. 17 and a jury trial is set for Feb. 22, 2016.

According to court documents, when Fry went into Driver’s Services in Polson Sept. 17 to get a license, he was told he needed a birth certificate to apply. He argued that he didn’t need one last time, and was told that the application process had changed since 9-11. At that point Fry allegedly said something about bombing city hall, and Polson City Hall was put under a bomb threat alert. When questioned Fry admitted he had said something to the clerk at Driver’s Services about bombing city hall.

Isaiah Elgie Thomas, unknown age/residence, pleaded not guilty to amended charges: four counts of felony burglary, four counts of felony theft, and one count of criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.

An omnibus hearing is set for Jan. 28, 2016 and a jury trial is set to start April 11.

According to court documents, Thomas has been allegedly involved in the burglary and theft of homes in the Jette Hill area and Finley Point.

Marcyanna Rose Dimond, 38, Polson, pleaded not guilty to three counts of felony theft. An omnibus hearing is set for Jan. 28, 2016 and a jury trial is set to start April 11.

According to court documents, Dimond allegedly rented a storage unit to store stolen items and also stored stolen items in her home. The stolen items were taken from three homes in the Jette Hill area and Finley Point, and were found during a search warrant conducted by a Polson police detective on Sept. 28.

Derrick Cecil Pluff, 28, Polson, pleaded not guilty to two counts of felony burglary, two counts of felony theft, and one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief. Jurisdiction was changed to Judge Larson of Missoula.
 
According to court documents, Pluff is allegedly involved in acquiring stolen property from at least three residences in the Jette Hill, Finley Point and Polson areas. Pluff had been seen entering and exiting a storage unit many times where stolen items were being stored.
 
William Allen Rorvik, 34, Polson, pleaded not guilty to felony burglary. An omnibus hearing is set for Jan. 14, 2016, and a jury trial is set to begin March 7, 2016.
 
According to court documents, on April 15 cash and liquor were stolen from a Charlo bar that had been broken into. Security cameras showed two men, dressed in dark clothing, enter the building, go to the liquor cabinet and pry open the cash register. The bar owner identified one of the men as Rorvik. During a search of Rorvik’s vehicle, a detective found dark clothing similar to that worn by the men on the tape, and a torn dollar bill that matched up exactly to a portion of a dollar bill still stapled to the wall inside the bar.
 
Christopher Jermaine Marks, 35, Ronan, in a change of plea admitted the offense of committing criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. The court found Marks guilty. Sentencing is set for Jan. 7, 2016.
 
According to court documents, on July 25 Marks was arrested on an outstanding warrant. In Marks’ pocket were nine syringes, a kit for intravenous drug use and a glass pipe with methamphetamine. He stated to a Lake County deputy, “I don’t use it, I just hold it for people and hook them up.”
