Lady Vikings take third at divisional tournament

CHARLO — The Charlo High School Lady Viking varsity volleyball team finished in third place during the Western C Divisional Tournament on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Nov. 3, the Lady Vikings opened tournament action with a 25-21, 25-19, 25-9 three-set sweep against the visiting Shields Valley Lady Rebels. Carlee Fryberger paced Charlo with 15 kills and seven digs. Kassidi Cox had 10 assists and five aces. Conner Fryberger finished with 13 assists. 

The Lady Vikings fell 25-10, 25-20, 24-26, 25-6 while facing the visiting Manhattan Christian Lady Eagles on Thursday. Carlee Fryberger led Charlo with 18 kills, a block and eight digs. Conner Fryberger had nine digs and 19 assists. Molly Kate Sullivan posted a team-high 11 digs.

In Saturday’s consolation round, the Lady Vikings defeated the Hot Springs Lady Savage Heat 25-6, 25-16, 25-14 to capture third place. 

Leading the Lady Viking charge, Carlee Fryberger posted 10 kills, eight digs and six aces. Also for Charlo, Cox recorded 11 kills and eight digs. Conner Fryberger chipped in with a game-high 20 assists.

The Lady Vikings will look to continue their postseason and earn their second consecutive appearance into the Class C state volleyball tournament with a Monday, Nov. 9, on-the-road game against Western C Divisional second-place finisher Lone Peak.
