Join ‘Moving for Better Balance’
POLSON — Moving for Better Balance, an evidence-based, adapted Tai Chi class, will be offered by the Area VI Agency on Aging on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-11 a.m. for 12 weeks, May 1-July 19. Classes will be held at the Polson Senior Center. The fee is $35 for senior center members, $50 for non-members (they get a membership included), but everything is on a slidingscale. July 4th Arlee Powwow begins
ARLEE — The 120th annual Arlee Powwow celebration begins Monday, July 2, and ends Sunday, July 8. All events are open to the public and free of charge. Arts, crafts, stick games, dance competitions, Indian and other ethnic foods will be available. Absolutely no alcohol, firearms, unleashed dogs or motorcycles are allowed in the camp area. This year’s dance competition will expand to 31 categories. There will be separate style categories for adults age 40-59. Women and men 60 years and over will be in competition categories of all styles combined. The event takes place on the powwow grounds on Powwow Road in Arlee. Summer theatre opens with ‘After the Ball’ through July 22
POLSON —The Port Polson Players’ 2018 summer season, (their 43rd summer season), opens with the musical “After the Ball.” The show features music from the Gay ‘90s through the Roaring ‘20s, along with the title song, parlor tunes, ragtime, cowboy ballads, and Tin Pan Alley favorites. All summer theatre shows are presented at Polson’s beautiful theatre on the lake on the Polson golf course - U.S. Hwy. 93, Boettcher Park. This regional premier plays from July 5-22. Cultural Arts Fair, exhibits at Ninepipes
CHARLO — Ninepipes Museum is honored that Joshua Marcea, a first descendant of the Bitterroot Salish tribe, will exhibit his sterling silver setting and lapidary work, which he combines to make handmade one-of-a-kind pieces. Marcea also does leather tooling and carving to make wallets and sheathes for his handmade inlayed knives. The Ninepipes Museum of Early Montana's second annual Cultural Arts Fair will be on the museum grounds from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 7. This fun, family-friendly outdoor arts fair will be an opportunity for Montana artists to exhibit and sell their work to visitors enjoying their summer vacations in the Mission Valley as well as to local friends and neighbors.

YELLOW BAY — The 2018 Data and Donuts Seminar series is offered every summer during the first four weeks of the FLBS Summer Session. The series offers students and the public a chance to hear speakers across a wide variety of ecological topics. Little ones invited to ‘Brushing your teeth’ activities at library
POLSON — Join the Parents as Teacher Home Visitors as we partner with Youth Services Librarian Kendra during the North Lake County Public Library’s Mother Goose Story Hour at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 9, and for all the Mondays in July. The theme for July 9 will be brushing your teeth. We’ll have activities, treats, toothbrushes and, of course, Kendra will read us fun books on the topic. Pregnant moms and families with children under the age of 5 are welcome to attend the Parents as Teachers Community Connections. We’ll have a drawing for a door prize, and we often give out free books to the children in attendance. Commissioner to speak on county budgetary process
POLSON — Lake County Commissioner Dave Stipe, will speak to the public at the meeting of Lake County Pachyderm Club on Friday, July 13, from noon-1 p.m. He will address questions the public may have on the county budgetary process. RONAN — The Lower Mission Valley Chapter of P.E.O. will hold their annual rummage sale on July 13, on the west side of Ronan Glacier Bank, across from the city park. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Clothing, household goods, accessories, books, games and miscellaneous items will be available for sale. All proceeds from the sale will be used for P.E.O. sponsored scholarships for women.

Get muddy at Boys & Girls fundraiser
POLSON — The fourth annual Polson Mud Run will be held on Saturday, July 14, at the Polson Fairgrounds. This is a fundraising event for the Flathead Boys & Girls Club. The 5K obstacle course includes many different types of terrain and obstacles to overcome, including mud. BIG ARM — The fifth annual Flathead Lake Swim Series will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 20-22, at Big Arm State Park with four swims over 3 days: 5K, 10K, 1 mile and ½ mile. This is a charity event with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Enduring Waves Foundation.
