Editor,

This letter is about the Polson City Commission plan for the future. In reference to the Ridgewater access road, I would like to suggest another alternative.

Hillcrest Road is a residential area, which already has enough traffic. I suggest the commission look to the future of Polson and extend Ridgewater Drive through to the south of the old cemetery and on to 13th Avenue E.

At this time, it appears that Ridgewater could be widened with a turning lane. This would give quick access to the pool, soccer field, hotel and other medical services, and in the future, it might be extended to Kerr Dam Road. At this time, most of this land is undeveloped. It is also fairly level which would reduce expenses. There are just a few homes near 13th Avenue. Ambulances and school buses could avoid the heavy traffic on U.S. Highway 93.

Now is the time we should be planning for the future of our lovely town. This would also help solve the traffic holdups during the tourist season. Please consider this.
