Republican hypocrisy rampant

Editor,

I love Republicans; they are my favorite hypocrites.

Republicans criticize President Obama for not being prepared for the embassy attack in Libya, but have no criticism for Bush, who ignored actual intelligence predicting a terrorist attack in 2001. He then led us into unnecessary wars, which has cost thousands of lives and billions of dollars.

Bush inherited a surplus and turned it into a $12 trillion deficit. But, Republicans only mention the “huge” $4 trillion added since President Obama took office.

President Obama, the “great spender”? In fact, the debt grew 8.7 percent under Reagan, 8.1 percent under Bush and only 1.4 percent under Obama. When President Obama took office, 800,000 jobs were being lost per month; now there is a consistent growth of American jobs. Romney would have let the auto industry fail and now is trying to take credit for its survival. He hasn’t made jobs, but he sure has made money — $15.3 million from the auto bailout alone. Romney claims the people are the “takers” and the wealthy are the “makers.” Actually, the workers are the “makers” and the wealthy are the “takers.”

John Kerry was a “flip-flopper”? What about Romney? He has held conflicting positions on every issue depending on his audience. Romney was for universal healthcare as governor before he was against it, and now says he would keep “some” of it. He was for abortion and birth control, and now he is sort of against them — maybe. Romney was videoed dismissing 47 percent of Americans, and now is claiming he will be the president of 100 percent. He was against President Obama’s foreign policy until he was for it during the debate. Just who is Romney?

Even here in Montana, Rehberg’s entire campaign has been critical of Tester’s record, because, after 12 years in Congress, Rehberg has no record of his own to run on. He has done nothing but take taxpayer money, yet claims Tester is the big spender and doesn’t represent Montana values.

And, the list goes on and on. As I said, Republicans are my favorite hypocrites.
