Editor,

If we, the American public, really knew the extent of the manipulation of information being fed to us day after day, then we, the American public, would all be as angry and frustrated as what was shown to us through the Tea Party movement.

“What do I know?” you ask. “Where do I come off saying things like this?” you add.

Well, I surely don’t make it up. I do read many things. I do listen to many so-called leaders, pundits and political analysts both domestic and foreign.

With the focus just recently upon the WikiLeaks cables, let me suggest that you read a thoughtful, accurate, and profound assessment of this from a man of wisdom, vision, understanding, and great national and international experience: Noam Chomsky.

Noam Chomsky was interviewed recently on “Democracy Now” by Amy Goodman. This is terrific stuff — so revealing and so refreshing in light of all the misinformation being heaped upon us, the American public, by a political system thoroughly immersed in fear, control through military might, turning a blind eye to international opinion, and an obsession with filtering what is given to us through the media.

I urge you, even if you think you are going to totally disagree with me or what Mr. Chomsky says, to look up Noam Chomsky on the Internet, or log on to “Democracy Now” and look up the interview about the secret U.S. Department cables by WikiLeaks. Then think about that interview and see how you feel, what you think, what reaction you have. I think you would find it most interesting.

Some will do this. Some will not. That is up to you. Maybe you don’t care, but I venture to say that in all honesty, deep down, most of us do care. I simply offer this as a point of view from a man of integrity and wisdom.
