Editor,

My wife, Carol, and I believe the community is fortunate to have two candidates running for Polson City mayor who have long-time roots in the Polson community. Both love Polson and have a desire to serve. The question is who has the most time to give and background experience for this position.

Polson is preparing for future growth and development. Sometimes it comes suddenly. Growth has a tremendous impact on city services: water, sewer, roads, schools, and emergency services. Preparedness and planning are vital.

Bob Fulton has lived in Polson for 32 years. During that time he has been an active participant in each of the areas most affected by growth. As a business owner for 32 years he knows the needs of the business community. Bob has served as city engineer for 24 years, building inspector three years, volunteer fireman seven years, and a term on the Polson school board. This gives Bob first-hand experience in each of these areas, a huge asset to the mayor position. In addition Bob became a member of the Polson City-County Planning board in 2005 and has been the chairman from 2006 to the present time.

Bob and his wife, Sharon, are members of several volunteer and service organizations including Polson Historical Museum, Board member of Loaves and Fish Pantry, Country Store, and volunteer their time to Soup’s On at the Journey Be. These qualifications will enhance his ability to make knowledgeable and informed decisions. Bob is for growth, well planned and prepared for in advance.
