Editor,

In reference to your letter in the Sept. 16 issue of the Valley Journal, Mr. “B. Rew” you imply that Jay Doyle, one of the candidates running for Sheriff of Lake County would not be fair to all citizens because he has recently become a tribal member. Is this to say that before he became “one of them” he was trustworthy?

I have worked with Jay Doyle for 16 years. I like Jay, but we have not become friends, so don’t assume that I’m writing in defense of one of my friends.

I have never heard anything racist come from Jay Doyle in all those years.

Since it seems to matter to you, I am “white,” well, beige really, but sometimes in the summer I become quite brown … but to me that’s neither here nor there, because I hate racism and believe that it can come from all races.

The letter you wrote is pure discrimination. Your theory is that if an official is one race, then they will only protect that race. Does that also mean that if the Sheriff is white, he, or she, will only protect the white people of Lake County?

I find it interesting that all this scandal against Jay Doyle supporters is proving to be false. You are only trying to make him look bad to pull votes from him. Isn’t it bad enough that we have to listen to this dirt in the national elections? I call bologna on your dirty politics.

I call bologna on your “concerned citizens” who aren’t brave enough to sign their names to any of the garbage you put out. You can’t even sign your real name. Yes, Mr. “B. Rew” I did check you out, odd that I can’t find you anywhere. You’re not in the phone book, you’re not anywhere in the state of Montana, through the elections office. You don’t exist as a registered voter. Other people have checked their “official records” and can’t find you there either.

I haven’t decided who I’m voting for in the election. I know who I’m not voting for, and my vote will not be decided based on your racist bologna.
