Biological child point of view

Editor,
In the recent Valley Journal article highlighting the Villegas story about Fostering Love, I feel I need to clarify a few things. Dennis Villegas has not been a part of my nor my children’s life for the last 11 years. And because of this you can understand why this article hurt me. His statements about children being “overlooked as one of its greatest assets,” and that he cares for his “biological” children is something my children and I have never had the privilege to experience for those 11 years.
All my personal lifetime achievements and successes athletically and educationally are attributable solely to my own hard work and dedication, along with the never-ending support from my mother CloAnn Westerman and my loving grandparents Louie and Clione Blood. I will never understand or agree with his decision but have to respect it. Along with my brother and I we wish Dennis Villegas and his “new” adopted and foster family well, but as his “biological” children we are not and have not been one of his “greatest natural resources.”
