Editor,

On Sept. 17, a free feature length movie entitled “A More Perfect Union, America Becomes a Nation,” dramatizing the original constitutional convention will be shown in the public meeting room at the Miracle of America Museum Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. There is no admission charge but a dozen cookies will be accepted for consumption during the intermission. This coming Friday should be a celebration for the whole world as it is the 220th anniversary of the signing of our Constitution.

The freedom (dependant on responsibility) guaranteed by this sacred document has allowed the United States to become the most stable and richest nation on earth. In spite of problems over the years, usually a result of straying from the Constitution, we have helped virtually every nation on earth. The most successful of those even patterned their form of government after our constitutional democratic republic.

Now some of those very countries we have fed are biting our hands or worse. We need to review this important document and the intent of the founding fathers who gave credit to God for the inspiration needed to draft it.
