Editor,
About four weeks ago, the Lord gave me an unplanned two weeks vacation. The first week I stayed where the accommodations were great and the room service was unbelievable. The second week I spent at home, where I consider myself on vacation whenever I’m there.
Some special things happened during that time, and I wanted to thank the folks in this community for their concern and best wishes. St. Luke Healthcare is a great team. The staff, volunteers and kids at the Boys & Girls Club are awesome. Friends and neighbors, the senior center, all those who wished me well with cards and letters and, of course, my loving family made my “vacation” a memorable one. Mending and full recovery is only a smile away.
I also had a little coaching, advice and wisdom shared about horsemanship that I appreciate. One broken rib for each day of the week reminds me every day that it is a blessing to live among such caring people in this community.
Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
