Editor,
The students and staff of the SKC Upward Bound and GEAR UP programs wish to thank the Ronan Bread Basket and Mission Mountain Enterprises’ Twice But Nice for the ongoing services they provide to our community.
SKC Upward Bound and GEAR UP, with support from the Coalition for Kids, recently held our first ever “Project Giveback” to raise funds and donations for the Ronan Bread Basket and GEAR UP scholarship fund. Our thrift-store fashion show, talent showcase, and Latin dance review were a big hit for all of the spectators and participants alike. We would not have been able to pull off this event without the support of Twice But Nice, as the staff from Mission Mountain Enterprises donated more than $200 of thrift store fashions and accessories to make our outfits complete.
The cans of food and financial donations received at Project Giveback allowed our students to truly give back to our community by providing the Ronan Breadbasket with a very generous donation.
As with all forms of community service, our students and staff not only gave, but also received. So many individuals from our community supported us with their help in sewing, make-up, and hairstyles that it would be impossible to name them all. Please be assured that we greatly appreciate all of your support.
Thank you to everyone who helped to make this event a fashionable and enjoyable success.
