Free meal served at Friendship Dinner
POLSON — The October Friendship Table Dinner is coming up on Oct. 10, from 5-7 p.m. The dinner will be served at the Polson Presbyterian Church located across from Linderman School. Come join us. This dinner is free and open to all.
Sedivy to discuss Flathead Lake
POLSON — Heidi Sedivy, Flathead Lakers Education and Outreach Coodinator and Invasive Species Specialist, will be the guest speaker at the Friday, Oct. 10, meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club. She will describe the work being done to protect Flathead Lake from invasive species.
Pachyderms meet at the Polson Rural Fire Hall on Regatta Road near the fairgrounds. All those interested in learning about this vital issue are welcome. The meeting begins at noon and adjourns at 1 p.m. The social time begins at 11:30 a.m.

Church celebrates with apple festival
POLSON — Immaculate Conception Catholic Church is sponsoring an apple festival on Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities included at the festival are: a delicious lunch, selling apple pies, raffles, rummage sales, and several craft vendors. Come and join us.

Thyme for Herbs to discuss wellness
POLSON — The next gathering of the “Thyme for Herbs Group” will be Monday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. in the North Lake County Public Library meeting room, 2 First Ave. E (use the east side door). The topic for the evening will be, “What We Need To Be Well.”

Boosters team up second Tuesdays
POLSON — Polson Booster Club meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings are at the high school in the conference room at 7 p.m. Come get involved in booster club. Next meeting will be on October 14.

Dance location moved
POLSON — Due to floor renovation activities, the Wednesday night dance normally held at the Elks will be held at the VFW on the night of Oct. 15. Ken’s Country Combo will play everything from waltz, two step polka swing and anything from the 50s. Dance is from 7-10 p.m. Bring a treat to share.

ARLEE — The Lake County Public Health Department will be offering flu shots to the public at Arlee Senior Center on Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 10:30 a.m.–noon. The cost is $25. Seniors, please remember to bring your Medicare Part B coverage cards as that will pay for your flu shot.

PAT to hold free Halloween event
POLSON — The Parents as Teachers is sponsoring a “Community Connection” event open to all area parents on Friday, Oct. 17, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The lunchtime event takes place in the Public Health Department’s conference room at 802 Main Street.
They will show you how to make some healthy Halloween treats and talk about fun ideas for the holiday. Information about the PAT program and lunch will be provided. A Ninja smoothie maker is the door prize and donated baby and toddler clothes are there to take home.
The PAT program is a free, voluntary program that provides twice monthly home visits with age-appropriate activities for children from birth to age five, developmental screenings, and information and referrals to area resources. Parents can be enrolled in the PAT program as soon as they are pregnant. For more information, call the Lake County Health Department at (406) 883-7209.

POLSON — The public is invited to the 10 a.m. meeting of the Flathead Reservation Area Historical Society on Tuesday, Oct. 21, in the large conference room of the Lake County Courthouse. Dinner to serve Swedish meatballs
POLSON — The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will hold its annual Harvest Dinner of Swedish meatballs, potatoes, gravy, lefse, salad and dessert from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, in the church fellowship hall. The cost for the dinner is $10 per adult, $4 per child under 10 years. Fair Trade coffee will also be available for purchase. Dinner proceeds will benefit local Helping Hands and Cheerful Heart organizations.
Polson harvest dinner planned
POLSON — A harvest community dinner will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23, from 6-7 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 2 Seventh Ave. E. There will be a chicken dinner and salad served. An inspiration film will be shown after dinner and will be followed with dessert and coffee. All are welcome.
