Parade, open house set in Polson
POLSON — The all new Lake County Parade of Lights will be on Friday, Dec. 4, starting at 6 p.m. Polson merchants will hold an Open House on Friday, Dec. 4, from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. with refreshments, special promotions, an art walk and entertainment. View over 200 Nativity exhibits
POLSON — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1202 Fourth Ave. E (west of Super 1 Foods), invites you to “The Nativity: Polson” on Friday, Dec. 4, from 5-8 p.m. This celebration includes a Nativity Exhibit with over 200 nativities on display. There will be a fun family photo op where you can choose a traditional portrait or dress up for a picture in our “Stable.” (Stable clothing is provided.) POLSON - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints invites you to "The Nativity: Polson" on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 3-8 p.m. (See Friday, Dec. 4) A Christmas program featuring local choirs and artists will take place on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Polson puts together Big Christmas event
POLSON — Looking for a great way to spend your Saturday prior to the Frozen Movie Night at Mission Valley Aquatics? Eat, drink and shop local at the “Small Town, Big Christmas” event in Polson from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 5, enjoy a horse-drawn hayride, visit with Santa, play $2 bowling, take a brewing museum tour and shop citywide sales. Visit each participating business, get your Christmas Passport stamped and you will be entered to win one of many grand prizes. Grand prize drawings to be held at Delaney’s Landscape Center at 4 p.m.

Attend ecumenical remembrance ceremony
POLSON – Partners In Home Care/Hospice, The Lake Funeral Home and Providence St. Joseph Medical Center would like to invite the public to remember and honor the loved ones in your life who have died.
An ecumenical ceremony of remembrance will be held on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. at The Lake Funeral Home and Crematory at 101 Sixth Ave. E.
Each attendee will be presented with a lighted candle and paper dove to symbolize the tribute to their loved ones.
The dove will be placed on a Tree of Life, which will remain illuminated until the New Year begins. The tree will be located at St. Joseph Medical Centers’ Lobby. This memorial ceremony is open to the public and a reception will follow.
Mormon Tabernacle Choir to be broadcast

POLSON — The Foster Grandparent Program Open House will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Senior Center in Polson on Wednesday, Dec. 9. The community and potential Foster Grandparent volunteers are invited to meet other Foster Grandparents and learn more about the program and its needs in Lake County. Scientist to address Audubon meeting
POLSON – “Conserving Forest Riparian Areas in the Face of Fire” by Chris Frissell will be Mission Mountain Audubon’s next evening program on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Polson Library meeting room. Everyone is welcome. Dr. Chris Frissell is a consulting research scientist and Affiliate Research Professor at the University of Montana’s Flathead Lake Biological Station that works on fish conservation, watershed science and freshwater habitat protection and restoration around the Pacific Northwest and California.

POLSON — Lake County, in partnership with the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Health Services, Providence Health and Services, and Western Montana Mental Health Center, is pleased to announce a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new “Lake House” mental health center, 7 Thirteenth Ave. E, on Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. The public is invited and welcome to attend.

Enjoy two nights of school-wide singing
POLSON — All are welcome to join us at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, and Tuesday, Dec. 15, for the Mission Valley Christian Academy Christmas Program with kindergarten to eighth graders and a live Nativity. The live Nativity will be at 6:30 p.m. and then at 7 p.m. there will be a school-wide “Sing A Song of Christmas” program.
Make cookies, ornaments
POLSON — Come make holiday ornaments and decorate cookies at the Lake County Health Department’s Parents as Teachers December Community Connection. This free community event will take place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, in the Public Health Department’s conference room, at 801 Main Street. Pregnant moms and families with children under the age of 5 are welcome to attend this free program. Young Republicans to hold dinner, elections
POLSON — Calling all young Republicans and patriots to the annual Christmas dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 15 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. to elect officers and create volunteer teams. The meeting will be held at the Ridgewater Office Complex, 145 Southlake Crest in Polson. Dinner and social-time at 6:30 p.m. to be followed by electing new officers and teams to develop an advocacy plan for Lake County. Our goal is to support the election of conservative candidates in 2016 and to promote fiscal responsibility and protection of constitutional rights in public policy. The future of America will be determined by courage of young people who stand to preserve freedom across generations. Open to ages 18-40 years old and to older volunteers who may be young at heart. He will give an overview of the department, its mission and effect on the local and national level of resource management.
