Annual Haunted House to be not so scary, very scary
RONAN — On both Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, the annual Boys’ and Girls’ Haunted House starts at 5:30 p.m. It’s scheduled to begin with a half hour of not-so-scary lights-on fun and then at 6 p.m., on both days, the lights go off and the haunted house becomes very scary. Thursday’s event runs from 5:30-10 p.m. and Friday’s event goes from 5:30-11 p.m. There is a $3 entrance fee. Goodies will also be for sale. All proceeds go to Ronan’s Boys’ and Girls’ Club.
Trick-or-treat from trunk to trunk
RONAN — The Ronan LDS Church will hold third annual Halloween “Trunk-Or-Treat and Chili and Cornbread Cook Off” on Thursday, Oct. 31. Everyone is welcome, community friends and families. Car trunks are decorated with a Halloween theme. Bring Halloween treats to pass out as children trick-or-treat from trunk to trunk. Bring your favorite chili and /or cornbread for others to sample. Enjoy hot cocoa and free fun for all. A costume contest will be held at 7 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for best chili, cornbread, costumes, and decorated trunks. Donate blood
RONAN — An American Red Cross blood drive will take place Monday, Nov. 4, from 2-6 p.m. at the Ronan Sacred Heart Parish Fellowship Hall. Identification is required to donate. To schedule an appointment or for more information, call Adina at (406) 675-3580. The blood drive is sponsored by the GFWC Ronan Woman's Club.

Horsemen to present on pasture rotation
RONAN — The regular meeting of the Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the VFW Hall on Round Butte Road in Ronan. The program for the evening will on pasture rotation, presented by Ben Montgomery. It should be very interesting. Hope to see you there. As usual, all are welcome. Quilt Guild invites all to monthly meeting
RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold its next monthly meeting at the Terrace Lake Community Church, 35663 Terrace Lake Rd., at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Please come earlier to sign in and hang your show-and-tell and plan your UFO challenge project and turn in your sign-up sheets that night. Be working on the educational blocks of the month from the patterns sent out by Kay for Robyn. If you are signed up for it, don’t forget about the “mondo bag” class scheduled for Nov. 2 at the church. If you have questions, call Kay Krantz. Speaker offers encouragement to businesses
RONAN —Linda McCarthy will be the featured speaker at the monthly Ronan Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Nov. 7 at noon at the Ronan Golf Course. McCarthy, executive director of the Missoula Downtown Association, claims small businesses can survive and thrive even with the arrival of “box stores.” The speaker presentation and a lunch for $8 are open and available to the public. The program is expected to last an hour.

Say goodbye to Boys and Girls Club’s executive director
RONAN — You are invited to an open house, on Friday, Nov. 8, from 2-6 p.m., at the Boys and Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation and Lake County. Tour the Ronan Club (north side of Dairy Queen) and join club members, along with the Board of Directors, in saying farewell to Executive Director John Schnase.
