Boys and Girls Club summer program June 11 through August 17
LAKE COUNTY — The Flathead Reservation and Lake County Boys and Girls Club will operate a summer program at both their Polson and Ronan sites Monday-Friday (not July 4) from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. from June 11-Aug. 17. The cost is $25 per month and must be paid up front in addition to membership fee. Space is limited. The summer program focuses on academics, good character and citizenship and developing healthy lifestyles. Applications may be picked up onsite or at: www.flatheadbgc.org.

Fun, entertainment scheduled for Pioneer Days
RONAN –– The Pioneer Days celebration begins in Ronan on Friday, Aug. 3, and will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday Aug. 3-5. Ronan Pioneer Days is a community event with fun for the whole family. There will be plenty of good old-fashioned entertainment. There will be a fishing derby from 8 a.m.- noon and happy hour will take place with the Ronan Pioneer Days Company at 5 p.m. The Bulls and Broncs Rodeo is at 7:30 p.m. Scholarships will be given out at the rodeo and you must be present to win. Graduates of RHS 1958 reunite
RONAN — The Ronan High School graduating class of 1958 in having their 60th class reunion on Aug. 3, 4, and 5. We are having a get-together Friday night Aug. 3; a potluck at noon on Saturday, Aug 4; and have a horse-drawn wagon (donations accepted for the driver) for the parade on Sunday, Aug. 5. Basketball tournament, contests held
RONAN — The 23rd annual Pioneer Days 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 4. Registration and payment are due by Monday, July 30. Either drop them off at the Ronan Dairy Queen between 7-8 p.m. on Monday, July 30, or by mail to P.O. Box 91, Ronan. Special events held on Leonard Park logging/ WBC Woody’s Center Court – free throw contest, 3-point contest and 6, 7, 8 and 9 foot dunk contests. Fundraiser to fund adults-with-disabilities facility
RONAN — On Aug. 4, during Pioneer Days, from 8 a.m.–4 p.m., a fundraiser will be held at the Terrace Lake Community Church, 35663 Terrace Lake Road. The event will include a silent auction, a yard sale and food. Your help will help provide funding for a feasibility plan to turn a local church in Ronan into a proactive assisted living facility for adults with disabilities and more.
Pancakes, softball, rodeo planned for Pioneer Days
RONAN — Pioneer Days’ second day begins with a pancake breakfast at the VFW, followed by a 3-on-3 basketball tournament at 8 a.m. at the Ronan High School parking lot, and a co-ed softball tournament at 9 a.m. There will be a car show at 10 a.m. and a Kiddie Slicker Rodeo at noon. The open rodeo and Ring of Fire begins at 7:30 p.m. with scholarships again being given (must be present to win). Another street dance is planned for 9 p.m.
Participate in MM Classic Run
RONAN —The 38th annual Mission Mountain Classic Run, (5k and 10k), begins at 8 a.m. behind Glacier Bank. For those 18 years and older the fee is $22 and for those 17 years and younger the fee is $15. Fees include a T-shirt. For more information go to: https://www.flatheadbgc.org.

Watch wild buffalo riders at rodeo
RONAN — Pioneer Days events continue with a 9 a.m. volleyball tournament at the city park; a parade with the theme “Favorite Movie” at 12:30 p.m. (registration is at 10 a.m. at Round Butte Mini Storage); an open rodeo and wild buffalo riding at 3 p.m. and a family karaoke night at the Valley Club at 6:30 p.m.

Horsemen host speaker to discuss equine therapy
RONAN — On Tuesday, Aug. 7, Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will hold their monthly meeting at the VFW in Ronan at 7:30 p.m. We are very excited to have Shaunda Albert of Ronan do a program on equine therapy. Equine therapy and retreats include children in foster care and people with addiction issues, and veterans. We encourage the community and VFW members to come and explore what this equine therapy is all about. Hope to see you all there.
