Recovery support available

RONAN —Recovery support is available for those struggling with addiction at The Never Alone Recovery Hall, at 309 B Main Street, every day of the week. The Never Alone Recovery Hall is a peer support dropin center. We are simply recovering people offering our experience, strength, and hope to our community members who are struggling with addiction issues. All groups and services are free. Please feel welcome to drop in and check us out.

On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays a noon meditation group is held and from 1-5 p.m. individual peer support is available.

Mondays a women’s support group takes place from 6-8 p.m.

Tuesdays there are recovery stories and videos heard from 6-8 p.m.

Wednesdays Narcotics Anonymous meets from 6-8 p.m.

Thursdays an early recovery skills groups meets from 6-8 p.m.

Fridays from 8-9 p.m. The Red Road to Recovery group meets.

Saturdays a co-dependent support group meets at 5 p.m. and at 6:30 p.m. special events take place (events change).

Family movie night happens from 6-8 p.m. on Sundays.

Celebrate Recovery ministers to anyone

POLSON — Celebrate Recovery Ministry takes place at Polson Foursquare on Sundays between 5-8 p.m.

All are welcome to join us each Sunday evening. CR is a Christ-centered 12-step recovery ministry for anyone with hurts, habits or hang-ups. The evening starts off with dinner followed by a teaching and discussion groups with coffee/dessert. Childcare is available. Join ‘Barefoot Church’ service

POLSON — Weekly Sunday “Barefoot Church” services are at 1 p.m. at the Montana Co-op. Come as you are. Bask in the Spirit, no judgment, just love and worship, forgiveness and healing.

POLSON — NAMI Mission Valley/LAC meets the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Journey Be Church/Soups On, 101 Seventh Ave., W. For more information, call 406-883-1086.

 

Gather for prayers, readings, meal

POLSON -- Soul-food Saturday is a community gathering at the Co-op HUB to share prayers, readings and discussion on the topic of unity, followed by a light meal. Kids of all ages are welcome; supervision is provided.

New hours announced for MO

POLSON — Miracle of America’s hours are now 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 1:30-6 p.m. on Sundays. Some holidays may be shorter hours as well, so it is best to call 406-883-6804 first. Our free “Night at the Museum” is on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Donations or treats are always welcome. Schoolteachers are encouraged to give extra credit for a report from attending students.

Montecahto Club invites new members

 POLSON — The Montecahto Club meets the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. We are a social and service organization and sponsor a scholarship for a graduating senior, cook and serve lunch at “Soup’s On,” collect for the Food Bank, send Care packages to the overseas troops and help out wherever we can. We welcome new members. Come to a meeting and get to know us.

Area-wide AlAnon meetings available 

LAKE COUNTY — Are you affected by someone else’s drinking? AlAnon can help. Area meetings are anonymous, non-smoking, 12-step recovery for family and friends of alcoholics. Come join us. There are no membership dues. Meetings are held: Wednesdays at 9 a.m. at Lutheran Church on Wall Street in Hot Springs; Wednesdays at noon in Polson at the Alano Club on Third Ave. W ; Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. at the CMA Church on Third Ave. in St. Ignatius; Fridays at 8 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church on Fourth Ave. E in Polson.

POLSON - The Elks Club holds a community dance in their air-conditioned ballroom, the first and third Wednesday of each month from 7-10 p.m. Come and listen or dance. Snacks are at 8:30 p.m.
 
 
Sexual assault support group meets Wednesdays

Quilters delay meeting by one week

RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept 11, one week later than normal. It will be held at the Terrace Lake Community Church in Ronan at 6:30 p.m. It’s yearly dues time. Invite a friend to come to the meeting and join in the fun and refreshments. Also, take advantage of the great classes put on by members of the guild during the year. Remember to bring your show-and-tell items; everyone is welcome.

Enjoy Ronan Harvest Fest

RONAN — The Ronan Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual Harvest Fest and Dutch Oven Cook-off from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Ronan Visitors’ Center on Highway 93. The day includes food and craft vendors, the Trail of Bales voting, the Dutch Oven Cook-off, emergency services displays, a vintage tractor display and kids’ games. There will be lots of family fun. RONAN — Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will hold their annual Octoberfest on Oct. 2, at the Ronan VFW starting at 6:30 p.m. This event is a potluck. Farmers hear trade damage plan, payments

RONAN — A market facilitation program meeting for Lake County producers is set for Oct. 4 The Lake County USDA Farm Service Agency will host an informational meeting on the Market Facilitation Program on Oct. 4, 2018, from 1-4 p.m. in the Ronan USDA Service Center conference room, 64352 US Highway 93 in Ronan. FSA staff will provide an overview of the program and discuss eligibility and documentation requirements.

Indigenous film series begins

RONAN — Flathead Reservation Human Rights Coalition fifth annual free film series at the Entertainer Theatre in Ronan begins with their first film at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7. Children under 13 should be accompanied by an adult. Skinwalkers is the PBS adaptation of the Tony Hillerman novel with Wes Studi and Adam Beach as detectives solving crimes among the Navajo. Western Native Vote will register voters from noon-1 p.m.

Lake County candidate forum on tap in Ronan

RONAN — Lake County Democrats and the Lake County Republican Women are co-hosting a candidate forum at the Ronan Community Center on Wednesday, Oct. 10, beginning at 6 p.m. with a meet and greet. Refreshments will be provided. Local candidates for county commissioner, house and judicial districts will be in attendance. The forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
