POLSON — On Oct. 5 Sandpiper Art Gallery starts a new month-long show in memory of John Davis entitled “Driven to Abstraction.”

This non-juried show is open to all artists. Artistic interpretation of the theme, in any medium, will be accepted. Miracle of America Museum have 4 or 5 metal sculptures there, one of which is very emotionally charged about drunk driving. The show runs from Oct. 5-Nov. 14.

POLSON — The annual Fall Bazaar and Luncheon at the First United Methodist Church, 301 Sixteenth Ave. E, is on Friday, Nov. 6. 

Art, homemade crafts and baked goods will be sold from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Soup and sandwiches, topped off with an apple dumpling and ice cream, will be served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. 

Proceeds will be used for local and church-wide mission outreach.

POLSON — A benefit pancake breakfast for Thelma Mae Briney will be held from 8-11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Cherry Valley School. Donations will be accepted at the door.

Thelma is the daughter of Brad and Mandy Briney and the granddaughter of Paul and Kathy Briney. Thelma has been diagnosed with a rare form of children’s cancer and is being treated in Seattle. Her parents and 5-year-old brother will stay with her during her 6-8 month treatment and will be unable to work. CHARLO — The cooler weather calls for hot chili and bluegrass music. Come enjoy both at Leon Community Clubhouse on Saturday, Nov. 7. POLSON — A free training to help reduce suicide will be offered Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at New Life Christian Center in Polson. Those who attend the full 8-hour training will receive three certifications: Mental Health First Aid Certification, C.A.L.M. Certification (Conversation about Access to Lethal Means Certification), and Question, Persuade, Refer Certification.

RONAN — The Lake County Council on Aging offers respite services for caregivers over the age of 60. This provides temporary relief and rest from caring for their loved ones. This service helps support family and informal caregivers to remain healthy so they can continue being caregivers. On Tuesday, Nov. 10, the Lake County Council on Aging will present ‘Respite Training’ from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Mission Valley Senior Center at 528 Main Street, SW.

RONAN — The Mission Valley Concert Band and Percussion Festival will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Ronan Performing Arts Center. The free concert is open to the public and showcases more than 120 students from Ronan, Charlo, St. Ignatius, St. Regis, Thompson Falls, Noxon, Plains and Arlee.

Annual Veterans Celebration Program and Lunch at Glacier View School will be held this year on Tuesday, November 10, the day before Veteran's Day. Our Students have prepared a short program at 11:00 to honor Veterans and their families. Lunch will be served afterwards at 12:00. RONAN — On Wednesday, Nov. 11, Mission Valley Live will present the wind quintet Chinook Winds at the Ronan Community Center at 7 p.m. Quintet members are principal players in the Great Falls Symphony Orchestra, as well as present chamber music throughout Montana. POLSON — The fourth annual “Hunter Widows' Holiday Bazaar’ will take place on Sunday, Nov. 15, at the Elks Lodge, 512 Main Street, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Get an early start on all of your holiday shopping needs. RONAN – Faith Lutheran Church in Ronan will host a multi-cultural dinner called A Feast for the Nations on Sunday, Nov. 15, at noon. The dinner will feature cuisines from nations around the world including Norway, Mexico, Germany, India, Denmark and several others, as well as art and other items from countries all around the globe. POLSON — On Tuesday, Nov. 17, the Lake County Health Department’s Parents as Teachers program’s Community Connection for November will focus on “Turkey Fun” with an art activity and snacks. This community event will take place from 2-3:30 p.m. in the Public Health Department’s conference room, 801 Main Street. Pregnant moms and families with children under the age of 5 are welcome to attend this free program. ST. IGNATIUS — Pastor Bob Larssen will talk about the Pinehaven Christian Children’s Ranch at a meeting of the St. Ignatius Neighborhood Watch on Tuesday, Nov. 17. He will explain what the ranch is, how it operates and the goals its staff and students hope to attain. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate at all of the St. Ignatius chapter’s meetings.

RONAN — Be prepared for lots of fun as the Ronan Middle School Drama Department presents a performance of the play, “Blackboot’s Lost Loot” at the Ronan Performing Arts Center on Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.

The performance includes lots of pirates, lost treasure, dancing, and ducks. General admission tickets are $5 and will only be sold at the door the evening of the play.
