ELMO — The Kootenai Tribe, also known as the Ktunaxa Ksanka Band, welcome all nations and the general public to the 36th annual “Ksanka Standing Arrow Powwow” at Elmo Powwow Grounds Friday, July 17-Sunday, July 19. It is an Indian gathering featuring drumming, dancing and traditional dress.

ST. IGNATIUS — The 33rd annual St. Ignatius Good Old Days will be held July 17-19.  Watch for posters around Ronan and St. Ignatius for events and times. The Mission Mountain Pageant is Friday at 2 p.m. at the grade school gym. The barbecue is from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Adults are $10 and children 12 years old and under are $6. The dessert contest will be judged at 5 p.m. so have entries there by 4- 5 p.m. Music by Showdown begins at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 18, starts with the Buffalo Run and breakfast from 7- 11 a.m. at the Senior Citizen’s Center. The parade is at noon. Applications are at the Lake County Branch of Valley Bank. There is no entry fee. Afternoon events will be at Good Old Days Park with music in the evening. 

ST. IGNATIUS — The 2015 Buffalo Run in St. Ignatius, will take place on Saturday, July 18. It is a 1-mile Fun Run, 4-mile run-walk, 7-mile, and half marathon run. RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold their annual Quilt Show at the K. William Harvey gym in Ronan on July 30, 31 and Aug. 1 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday. 

The theme this year is “Twist and Shout.” Kay Krantz will be the featured quilter and Tonya Gray has a family history booth planned. There will be raffles for a quilt, two fat-quarter suitcases, a youth category this year and several vendors showing their wares.

Ronan –– The second day of Pioneer Days begins bright and early with a pancake breakfast served at the VFW at 7 a.m. The 3-on-3 basketball tournament starts at 8 a.m. along with the 34th annual Mountain Classic Run (5K and 10K). A co-ed softball tournament takes place at 9 a.m. as does the Experimental Aircraft Association’s open house at the Ronan airport.
