Donald Oswell Owen

POST CREEK – Don Owen passed away at his home on Post Creek hill on February 26. He was born September 20, 1938 in Malta, Mont. to Oswell Kenneth and Mary Johnson Owen. Don moved to the Mission Valley with his family in 1942, settling on the family ranch at the rim of Post Creek hill, overlooking the lower Mission Valley. He attended St. Ignatius schools, graduating in 1956, then headed for Bozeman to acquire a bachelor's and master's degree in agriculture education from Montana State College (now MSU). His first teaching job was at Belfry, Mont., and he then spent 26 plus years at Columbus High School, teaching agriculture, and advising the FFA chapter. Don received several awards...
