RSI’s Franklin, Durglo multiple winners at divisionals, 14 advance to state finals

LIBBY — Fourteen RSI athletes extended their track season at the Northwestern A Divisional Track Meet in Libby Friday and Saturday. Seven RSI boys and seven RSI girls placed in the top five in an event in the five-team meet to advance to the state finals in Laurel this weekend. Adessa Durglo led the girls’ team. Far above the rest

Add another divisional track title to the Lady Pirates’ record, their sixth over the last 11 years. And with three state title under their belt, they are definitely in the hunt for a fourth. The Polson girls swept through the competition at last weekend’s Northwestern A Divisional track and fi...

Not even close

There was no need for the Vikings to win the 1,600-meter relay — the final race of the Western C Divisional Track Meet. Maidens end season with a bang

WHITEFISH — During the offseason, the Ronan Maidens’ coach will probably be the first coach to lobby for a divisional tournament next year in the Northwestern A. After watching his young team close the season winning three of four games, with all three of their victories coming against teams b...

Two losses serve to refocus Lady Pirates before state

Finishing the regular season 1-2 wasn’t the way Polson’s Lady Pirates wanted to head into this weekend’s state Class A softball tournament, but that’s a reality they’ve had to face. And, hopefully, they’ve learned enough from those losses to spur them into a final winning ...

4 four-tunate ones

It was a good week for Polson tennis. Even the weather cooperated as the Polson girls wrapped up their fourth straight divisional tennis title and the boys’ top doubles team earned the tournament championship. Kalispell was host to the Northwestern A Divisional tennis tournament on Thursday and Frid...

Divisionals was good learning experience for young Ronan tennis squad

The young, developing Ronan tennis team finished off its season with some competitive performances at last week’s Northwestern A divisional tennis tournament in Kalispell. Although they played hard and learned a lot, the Ronan players did not finish in the top four placings, which would have qualified ...

"I did it"

When Mission’s Spencer Ahlborn smashed an overhead shot to win the 2010 Montana Class B-C Singles Championship and raised his arms in celebration on the University of Montana courts Saturday morning, only three words came to his mind. “I did it,” Ahlborn said is what he was thinking afte...

Members of the Mission Valley Rodeo Club split their time between rodeos in Deer Lodge and Shelby last weekend, with beautiful weather and plenty of competition at both locations, including a Wrangler Division rodeo in Shelby.
