Use money for treatment instead

Editor,
Well, “pot” is now legal for recreational use in Colorado and the people who smoke it are very happy there now. I watched the news the day it opened up and couldn’t help notice the thousands of people waiting in at least 13 locations in Denver alone. My question may be an unfair one, but I will still ask it. How can people who are employed wait for several hours for two or three days to buy pot? Where do they get the $70 being paid for one-eighth of an ounce of the drug? Colorado has opened a can of worms and we will most likely be faced with the same decision at some point.
The truth is that the government and large corporations are the only ones who are going to benefit, and that is a simple fact. When we look at the truth, marijuana is highly addictive and does destroy people’s lives on a regular basis. Pot is probably the most difficult drug to stop. There are currently thousands of people sitting in prison because they could not stop smoking the drug. Alcohol is legal and look at the lives it costs us on a daily basis. I see this and now I am reading about a big move to save wolverines. We did this with another animal recently and look at what is happening there. Let the wolverines save themselves and don’t ask the taxpayers do it. If this new law gets voted in it will bleed off millions of dollars that could be used for drug and alcohol treatment for those who suffer from the disease of addiction.
